We Care for Mother Earth

All vegetable and fruit peelings and scraps are hauled in 5 gallon buckets to our 4 home garden composting areas to be turned into rich soil for our organic gardens.  We grow pesticide-free fresh herbs, berries and flowers for our kitchen and event use.

In 2019 we rescued 1550 gallons of vegetation from the landfill and we are on-track for even more this year.  Cardboard and plastic are recycled weekly.  Compostable products are used whenever possible.  We encourage the use of china, flatware and glassware that can be washed and used many times, rather than discarded.

Any excess food products are donated to Nativity House, an inner-city charity that serves hot meals to the hungry in our area.
