Was it the Fifties or the Sixties when the fanciest salad in a restaurant was The Wedge? Usually a wedge of crispy Iceberg Lettuce with Thousand Island Dressing and maybe a few Cherry Tomatoes. Then chefs got more daring and served Wedge of Romaine Lettuce with Bleu Cheese Dressing, Bacon or even Baby Shrimp. It was a definite move up from the ordinary pale lettuce and Italian Dressing!
Our new favorite first course is The Wedge Re-Invented! Adorable baby Iceberg Lettuce with Pancetta, Bleu Cheese Crumbles and Ripe Grape Tomatoes. Some really creative farmer figured out how to grow and ship these perfect little heads of lettuce – amazing!
Silverdale Beach Hotel New Venue for Snuffin’s

Right on the beach with a terrific view! Discover this newly renovated Silverdale hotel, located on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula.
The hotel features:
– The Admiral Ballroom is an elegant setting for banquets, weddings, fundraisers and seminars. Can host up to 270 guests with theatre-style seating, 200 guests with 10-person round tables or 120 guests with classroom-style seating. The ballroom can also be divided into 3 separate rooms for smaller events. Includes tables, chairs, catering service kitchen and the hotel sets up tables and chairs. Adjoining terrace available for Ceremony or Cocktail Reception.
– A large waterfront courtyard patio makes a beautiful setting for a banquet or patio party. It features a wood-burning fire pit and plenty of space to mingle or relax on the beach.

It’s a magical moment when your first see your partner on your wedding day!! Many couples struggle with preserving that moment, but also really need to take photos before the ceremony.
A very savvy wedding planner taught me that it is “the moment” that matters, not when that moment occurs. You and your partner will anticipate and always cherish that first glance. It could be even more meaningful if it is a private time for just the two of you or time with your closest family and friends.
The advantages of taking photos before the ceremony are many:
*Everyone is still fresh with hair and make up perfect.
*Younger family members are still excited and not yet over-tired.
*Your guests won’t have to wait to start the celebration while you are taking photos.
*You will have the maximum amount of time to spend having fun at your reception.

Snuffins – I love Snuffins! They catered my daughter’s wedding and it was fabulous! I have been in the hospitality business for 35 years and have worked with many, many caterers… Sharon and her team are just wonderful!! I think I called Snuffin’s on a Saturday during August – I know… what was I thinking? It would be like calling a restaurant at noon or 6pm?! I think they had 5 events or something that day. Of course Sharon answered the phone herself – I think I remember realizing after calling that it was probably an insane day to call and you would have never known. She was simply wonderful to me and I told her what was going on in my life and I really just needed to get an idea of costs and gave her some basic information – she emailed me the next day which was Sunday before I made it back to Eastern Washington. I was impressed! Before the wedding we visited Sharon a couple times to do a tasting and make some selections for some dessert displays. They were always so helpful and accommodating – come wedding day it just continued. Sharon walked through to check on everything, their staff was fabulous and the food…. Maybe the best chicken ever… I was everything we had heard and more. We actually had friends and family call us the next day to let us know they were so impressed with the food. To Sharon, and the rest of the Snuffin’s Team – THANK YOU very much for the wonderful food and service you provided our guests!!

I just had an outdoor wedding at our house and we used Snuffins. From the beginning it was nice working with Sharon and everyone at Snuffins. I could tell that they were very knowledgeable and that we were in good hands. When Snuffins arrived they came in and started doing their work and they were like the magical elves that you barely knew existed but were busy working, right there if you needed them and always pleasant. I did not need to interrupt my wedding to give any direction at all and everything was done perfectly. They cut the cake, poured for the toast, walked around our large yard serving appetizers and left my kitchen cleaner than when they got there! But most importantly I had a lot of guests go out of their way to tell me how great the food was! It really was great. When you eat from large buffets the food can be kind of bland, but their food was delicious! We had salmon and chicken marsala and they were reasonably priced and great! I would recommend Snuffins to anyone. They are very experienced, which allows you to relax, the servers could not have been better and the food is great tasting!…

Snuffin’s Tastings are Free!

So interesting – lately we have had so many wedding couples ask what we charge for our tastings. It seems that many caterers in this area charge prospective clients to taste their food. Hmmmmmm.
At Snuffin’s Catering, we do not charge for our Wedding Tastings!
We do have two levels of tastings offered:
1. When couples come in for a consultation with one of our wedding planners, our Chef prepares a tasting plate featuring 4 to 6 different appetizers. This tasting gives our couples an idea of our flavors and our excellent food presentation. We always ask about food allergies and preferences so that everyone attending the tasting can be accommodated.
2. Three times a year, we host wedding buffet tastings at our facility in Gig Harbor. (Usually September, January and April.) This event features a full buffet of our most popular menu items: usually two different Salmon preparations, Grilled Flank Steak, two Chicken choices, Grilled Vegetables, Caprese Salad and more. The evening starts with fizzy Champagne cocktails and is completed by a delicious Wedding Cake from our friends at Celebrity Cake Studio.
We’re proud of our immaculate and organized kitchen and glad to show it off to our clients. During the evening, our Wedding Planners and Chef are available to get to know our Wedding couples and their families, answer questions and give tours of our whole facility.
We do ask our couples to hold their reservation with a credit card which is only charged a nominal amount if the reservation is not used. (We have to limit how many we can accommodate and really, really hate to turn any one away!)
If you are asked to pay for a Wedding tasting at another caterer in our area, you might want to give Snuffin’s Catering a call first. We love Weddings and love to have you come into our shop and taste our yummy food!

This vegetarian entree’ was served recently for the Life Christian School’s Dinner/Auction Not only was it delicious and beautiful, but it was heart-healthy too!
