Snuffin’s version of this Russian Crème is a quick and delicious recipe that will delight family and friends.
- 3 envelopes gelatin
- 3 cup heavy cream
- 3 cup sour cream
- 1 and 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tea spoon vanilla
- 1 and 1/2 tea spoon fresh finely grated orange zest
Soften gelatin in heavy cream, then warm over medium heat, stirring frequently.
When gelatin is completely dissolved, remove from heat. Do not allow to boil.
Add rest of ingredients and whisk until well blended. Avoid beating air bubbles into mixture.
Pour into a well-sprayed 9″ x 13″ pan (or individual pans).
Refrigerate until firm, uncovered.
When completely cold and firm, warp with plastic wrap until serving.
Serve on a puddle of raspberry coulis with a tumble of seasonal berries.
You can prepare this dessert up to 3 days in advance.
