Snuffins – I love Snuffins! They catered my daughter’s wedding and it was fabulous! I have been in the hospitality business for 35 years and have worked with many, many caterers… Sharon and her team are just wonderful!! I think I called Snuffin’s on a Saturday during August – I know… what was I thinking? It would be like calling a restaurant at noon or 6pm?! I think they had 5 events or something that day. Of course Sharon answered the phone herself – I think I remember realizing after calling that it was probably an insane day to call and you would have never known. She was simply wonderful to me and I told her what was going on in my life and I really just needed to get an idea of costs and gave her some basic information – she emailed me the next day which was Sunday before I made it back to Eastern Washington. I was impressed! Before the wedding we visited Sharon a couple times to do a tasting and make some selections for some dessert displays. They were always so helpful and accommodating – come wedding day it just continued. Sharon walked through to check on everything, their staff was fabulous and the food…. Maybe the best chicken ever… I was everything we had heard and more. We actually had friends and family call us the next day to let us know they were so impressed with the food. To Sharon, and the rest of the Snuffin’s Team – THANK YOU very much for the wonderful food and service you provided our guests!!

Catering Event Planner/Event Captain (Tacoma Area)

Established Gig Harbor catering company seeks a full time event planner/event captain for an immediate opening. We are seeking a creative, self-motivated and positive person with the ability to communicate well with team members.

A potential candidate should be well organized, shine under pressure and have the ability to sell. The individual we hire will work in our office planning events and as an event captain on site.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a growth-oriented company with room to grow for this position as well. Medical insurance and vacation time are provided.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in off premise catering and event sales for weddings, corporate and    social events required.

• Strong administrative skills including a command of Word, Excel & social media

• Strong customer service skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and co-   workers

• Professional appearance and demeanor

• Must have a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

• Organized with ability to prioritize & manage multiple projects

• Flexibility & willingness to adjust to last-minute changes

• Ability to lift & carry moderate weights, 20-25 pound range

• Ability to stand/walk on parties for 8-11 hours, variable

• Proof of valid driver’s license & acceptable driving record

• Current food handlers card and class 12 mixologist certification

• Understanding and use of proper sanitation practices

• Knowledge of area venues and event spaces a positive attribute.

• Marketing experience a plus.
